About Lyn

Lyn I’ve been working with people for over 40 years.

I’ve been a probation officer, school psychologist, a workshop leader, and a consultant. Since 1977 I’ve been a licensed psychotherapist and more recently, a life coach. I’ve trained in Gestalt therapy, massage, Integrative Body Psychotherapy, EMDR, hypnosis, neuro-linguistic programming, yoga, iRest yoga nidra, cognitive-behavioral therapy and many other methods. I am always studying and learning, in order to serve people better.

I’ve learned that people are resilient.

Humans are hard-wired for hope. We’re like Wile E. Coyote in the Road Runner cartoons- we’re forever running off cliffs, being flattened by steam-rollers and having anvils drop on our heads. Nevertheless, by the next frame we’re up again, chasing the Road Runner. In my work with people, I emphasize resilience and the every-present availability of recovery from even the worst situations. I talk to the best in people, no matter how they're showing up.

I know that results matter.

I’ve supported myself (and even put my husband Tom through a Ph.D. program) as a small-business owner for many years. I’ve trained intern therapists and worked as part of teams under deadline and profitability pressures. Virtually all my clients come to me by referral from other satisfied clients. I’m known for practical, solution-oriented work, with a heart.

I know that peace begins within.

Most people are in conflict within themselves, listening to endless arguments in their own heads. Conflict with others typically occurs when the other person seems to speak for one of those invalidating internal voices, and we decide to “shoot the messenger.” I know that peace is available to every person, potentially in every moment, no matter what the external circumstances are.

I feel blessed to work with wonderful clients. I am consistently awed by the wisdom which emerges from within each person; it is so much richer, more creative and more appropriate than anything I could ever have thought of. I am also blessed with a long marriage to a loving and honorable man, and to have found a spiritual “path with a heart”, which I have walked for 35 years. In recent years I’ve discovered yoga- practicing and teaching this ancient art and inner science has become a true passion. And of course, the iRest yoga nidra work is a blessing beyond compare. It’s wonderful to have such a simple, effortless, non-sectarian method which produces such powerful results.

In my spare time I love to cook, go to movies and hang out with my friends by my beautiful swimming pool, gazing out at my rose garden. Tom and I are writing a book tentatively called Between Two Worlds: Hollywood and the Afterlife. Look for it soon (we hope) at your local bookstore.
